SuffolkSUP Team At Eton Dorney

What a day for SuffolkSUP! Travelled to Olympic venue Eton Dorney for first National SUP club championships. Windy, wet conditions for the first race of the day with Lottie Smith taking part in her first junior race. 1 km race and the youngest at 9 years old. Helena Richards had a tough wet start and battled through to complete her first (of many) SUP races over 4 km. Next up was Jon Smith in the Men's event. 6km up and down the lake he finished 3rd in the 12'6" masters catagory. Belinda Smith had an excellent race over 6km and powered her way to 3rd position in the masters ladies 12'6" class. The afternoon sprint races took place in torrential rain after the lightning had stopped! 4 to score so Helena managed to recruit Will from www.supboardermag.com for a great fun race in tough conditions. Thank you to Sam Ross and the Braylake crew for such a great day and venue. If you would like to join in with SuffolkSUP activities get in touch and help grow our club in Suffolk.
